JSU CAREER:
2015: Started all 15 games at cornerback for the Gamecocks as a redshirt junior…finished 10th on the team in tackles with 37, 29 of which were solo stops…led Jax State in interceptions with four, including two during the FCS playoffs, which was tied for the most on the team during the four-game span…recorded 2.5 tackles for loss…recovered a fumble against UT Martin.

2014: Started all 12 games at cornerback for the Gamecocks as a sophomore…finished fifth on the team in tackles with 52, 40 of which were solo stops…recorded 2.5 tackles for a loss and was third on the team with three interceptions, while breaking up a team-high seven passes…had one quarterback hurry that came in the season opener at Michigan State…recorded at least one tackle in every game, including five or more in seven games…notched a season-high seven stops against Austin Peay on Nov. 1…had six tackles in a game three times – vs. West Alabama on Sept. 20, at Murray State on Sept. 27 and at Tennessee State on Oct. 11…had five tackles three times…picked off his first career interception against UT Martin on Oct. 4 and returned it six yards…had another pick against Eastern Illinois on Nov. 15 and one the next week at Southeast Missouri…also broke up two passes in the EIU game.

2013: Appeared in nine games for the Gamecocks as a redshirt freshman…recorded five tackles, all solo, in his debut season…had two solo stops in his debut against Jacksonville on Sept. 7…had two in the final game of the season in the Dec. 14 Quarterfinal game at No. 3 Eastern Washington…had one tackle vs. Eastern Kentucky on Nov. 9.

2012: Sat out the season as a redshirt.

HIGH SCHOOL: Played three seasons for coaches Scott Burton and James Richardson at Marietta High School in Marietta, Ga.

PERSONAL: Full name is Jaylen Jerrod Hill…born on May 26, 1994, in Atlanta, Ga…son of Bernard and Chandra Hill…has an older brother, Jeremy, and a younger sister, Alexis…brother Jeremy played football at Pikeville University…is majoring in business at JSU.
