JSU OUTLOOK: Has really improved from an offensive standpoint…a good runner who swings the bat good…has put himself in a position for more playing time this year.
 
JSU CAREER: (2012) Played in 14 games and recorded three starts…made one start in left field and two in right field…stole one base on the year in his only attempt…posted a .923 fielding percentage with 11 putouts and one assist on with just one error…recorded a season-high four putouts twice against LIU Brooklyn and Tennessee Tech…was walked twice on the year and scored one run against Eastern Kentucky.
 
JUNIOR COLLEGE: Played at Muscatine Community College in Muscatine, Iowa, for Dave Barb…was an All-Region performer in both 2010 and 2011…as a sophomore in 2011, batted .342 in 44 games and led the team with 15 doubles…as a freshman in 2010, batting .384 in 38 games and posted a .576 slugging percentage…
 
HIGH SCHOOL: Played at  Birchmount Park Collegiate Institution in Toronto, Canada, for Adam Duhlke…was a two-time All-District selection…helped the Panthers win the Provincal Championship in 2007.
 
PERSONAL: Full name is Zachary E. Elbirt…son of Richard Elbirt and Roxanne Osmond…born on July 19, 1990…has three brothers, Marc, Daniel and Michael…lists the Toronto Blue Jays as his favorite Major League Baseball team and Derek Jeter as his favorite athlete…majoring in Business Management at JSU.
