JSU CAREER: Fall 2021: Played in all 11 games as a redshirt-sophomore…led the Gamecock receiving core with 45 catches for 561 yards and five touchdowns…held without a catch in only one contest for the year…his first touchdown catch of the season came on a 23-yard strike with 4:45 to play against Florida State for a play that is often overlooked but ultimately put the Gamecocks in range for the last-second upset on Sept. 11…found the end zone in three-straight home games against UT Martin, SFA and Central Arkansas where he had a season-high eight catches…final receiving score came at Lamar on Nov. 13.
Fall 2020/Spring 2021: Made appearances in three of the four games in the fall season and started all nine spring games for his sophomore year with the Gamecocks... received All-OVC Second Team honors for his achievements in the spring... recorded 17 catches on the year for 284 yards and three touchdowns... had a career day in the Gamecocks’ victory over Eastern Illinois on April 3 when he had five receptions for 101 yards and two scores, with his longest catch of the year coming for 44 yards... also recorded a solo tackle against Florida State on October 3.
2019: Made appearances in seven games as a redshirt freshman, including four straight beginning with Tennessee State on Oct. 5...his longest catch of the year of nine yards came in the home opener against Chattanooga...the first touchdown reception of his career was a seven-yard reception against Southeast Missouri on Oct. 19...finished the year with three catches for 24 yards and one touchdown.
2018: Made four appearances in his first year at receiver for the Gamecocks...caught his first pass on Sept. 8 against Mississippi Valley State for four yards...made a career-long catch of 20 yards on Oct. 6 against Eastern Kentucky.
HIGH SCHOOL: Finished his prep career with head coach Mark Freeman at Thompson High School in Alabaster, Ala., after playing three years at Montevallo High School…a three-star recruit by 247Sports, who also ranked him the No. 62 player in the state of Alabama…a first-team all-state selection by the Alabama Sports Writers Association as a senior, when he hauled in a state-record 118 catches for 1,464 yards and 13 touchdowns…was a finalist for the AHSAA Class 7A Back of the Year…led the Warriors to the AHSAA Class 7A Region 3 title in 2017…chose the Gamecocks over several offers that included South Alabama, Central Arkansas, Eastern Kentucky and Alabama State.
PERSONAL: Born on November, 17, 1998, in Birmingham, Ala…the son of Tim and Connie Edwards…has one older brother - Rashad…majoring in exercise science and wellness at JSU.
