JSU CAREER:
Fall 2021: Finished the season with 20 total tackles and three pass breakups…assumed his position as a kick returner where he returned 10 kickoffs for a team-best 200 yards…his 200 yards was sixth on the team in all-purpose yardage behind five offensive players.
Fall 2020/Spring 2021: Started in four of the five games played in despite missing most of the spring season due to an injury... recorded 21 tackles on the year, including 15 unassisted stops and a quarterback hurry against North Alabama... also returned two kickoffs for 53 yards, with a long of 40 coming against Mercer.
2019: Started all 12 games...ranked sixth on the team in tackles with 46, including 36 solo and four for losses of 26 yards...also ranked second on the team in pass breakups with six...his one interception for the year came on Sept. 14 to seal the comeback victory at home against No. 4 Eastern Washington...his best game came on Oct. 26 against Murray State where he picked up 10 tackles, eight solo, one for a loss of five yards and a pass breakup... also returned kickoffs on special teams making 22 returns for 416 yards, with a long of 54 yards.
2018: Started 12 games in 13 appearances in his first full year at cornerback for JSU...named a second team All-American by Phil Steele as well as a Freshman All-American by HERO Sports... Also named to the All-OVC Newcomer Team for 2018 along with Quarterback Zerrick Cooper... Ranked sixth on the team in tackles with 41 including 31 unassisted and 10 with assistance... Also picked up a tackle for loss for a loss of two yards... Returned an interception against Tennessee State for 15 yards making it his first pick as a Gamecock... Also recorded 10 pass breakups on the year... Had a career high day of tackles on Oct. 13 against Eastern Ill with 9 including eight unassisted... He also played as a kickoff returner for part of the season returning 10 kicks for 177 yards with a long of 34.
2017: Saw action in one game, making his NCAA debut against Liberty on Sept. 23…recorded two assisted tackles against the Flames in the secondary…missed the remainder of the season with a leg injury.
HIGH SCHOOL: A two-star recruit by Scout.com…played at Minor High School in Adamsville, Ala., for head coach George Bates…led the Tigers to an 11-2 record and 6A, Region 6 championship…named to the 2016 All-State First Team…listed as a 2016 All-Birmingham Football Second Team member…took Minor High School to the quarterfinals of the 6A AHSAA playoffs…drew interest from the University of Illinois…chose the Gamecocks over offers from Austin Peay, Samford, Alabama A&M and Alcorn State.
