JAX STATE CAREER:
2022: Sat out the season as a redshirt.
2021: Played in 10 games during his first fall season…hauled in nine catches for 90 yards and his first career touchdown…had a catch in five different games and three times had multiple receptions…his best game came with two catches for 32 yards at Lamar on Nov. 13 where he scored on a 21-yard reception on the first play of a one-play drive.
FALL 2020/SPRING 2021: Made appearances in nine games including a start against North Alabama in his first season with the Gamecocks…recorded four catches on the season for 63 yards with the first of his career coming in the season-opener against Florida State…made a reception in three straight games, with his longest of the spring coming for 58 yards against Davidson during the first round of the FCS Playoffs on April 24…also returned five punts for 18 yards.
HIGH SCHOOL: A three-star prospect according to 247Sports and Rivals…prepped his senior season for head coach George Bates at Center Point High School in Birmingham, Ala, after transferring from Fultondale High School…ranked the 31st ranked player from Alabama in his class by Rivals…a do-it-all prospect that played quarterback, running back, receiver, defensive back and kick/punt returner during his career…led the Eagles to a 9-4 record and into the third round of the AHSAA Class 5A Playoffs as a senior in 2019…signed with JSU after receiving FBS offers from Georgia, Kentucky, LSU, Louisville, Memphis, Ole Miss, South Alabama, Southern Miss, Troy, Tulane, UAB and UCLA.
PERSONAL: Born on Sept. 21, 2001…the son of Jayson Jones, Sr., and Monique Jones…has two younger brothers – Jayvon and Jacobb…majoring in exercise science and wellness at JSU.
