(2015): Another rising sophomore pitcher that gained experience as a freshman in 2015…made 13 total appearances and made six starts in non-conference action…finished the season 2-2 with wins against in-state rival Troy (3/11/15) and versus UAB (5/12/15)…tossed a season-high 4.2 innings in the win over the Blazers of UAB…tallied eight strikeouts in the contest and allowed just two hits…registered three strike outs in the win over Troy in his first JSU appearance…made three appearances against Ohio Valley Conference competition.

HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped at one of Alabama’s top high school baseball program, Pelham High School under the guidance of Coach Anderson at PHS…helped guide the Panthers to the 2013 Class 6A State Championship…was a key component on the mound during the 2013 state title run…went the distance and tossed a two-hit shutout in the deciding contest.

PERSONAL: Full name is Jack Pierce…son of Bill and Freida Pierce…born on July 19, 1996 in Birmingham, Ala. …the younger brother of Ty Pierce, who is a junior outfielder at JSU…Lists Clayton Kershaw of the Los Angeles Dodgers as his favorite player in his sport.
