SUMMER BASEBALL: Played for Bethesda Big Train in the Cal Ripkin, Jr., League for the second straight year in 2010…helped the team to second straight Cal Ripken League Championship…finished with a 4-1 record and a 2.73 ERA…pitched 36.1 innings, allowing 37 hits, 14 runs and only 11 earned, while recording 19 strikeouts…named to the Cal Ripkin League All-Star team…was selected to play in Puerto Rico from other pitchers from the Ripke League All-Stars…played 2009 for the Bethesda Big Train and led the team with a 5-2 record with a 1.95 ERA…tossed 50.2 innings, allowing just 11 earned runs with 35 strikeouts and 15 walks.
JSU CAREER: (2010) Made 16 appearances as a junior for the Gamecocks, including 10 starts on the hill…posted a 3-3 record and a 7.60 ERA…tossed 58.0 innings, allowing 49 earned runs with 38 strikeouts to just 14 walks…his best appearance of the year was in the post-season, a 6 2/3-inning relief appearance against Tennessee Tech in the semifinals of the OVC Tournament that earned him All-Tournament honors…against the top-seeded Golden Eagles, he entered the game with JSU trailing 5-2 but held TTU to a run on three hits, while striking out three and walking none to earn the win in relief…his first 10 appearances of the year were starts, while his last six were out of the bullpen…had a season-high five strikeouts vs Miami (Ohio) on 3/20…earned a win over Southern Illinois (2/27) after allowing just four hits and one run in five innings…earned his second win of the year against Eastern Michigan (3/13), where he gave up just one earned run in 5.1 innings on the mound…led the team by having opponents record 62 ground outs.
(2009) As a sophomore, made a team-high 24 appearances, with 23 in relief…posted a 7-2 record with one save and a 4.53 ERA…tossed 51.2 innings, allowing 26 earned runs with 43 strikeouts to just 12 walks…his seven wins tied for the team lead…made a team-high nine appearances vs OVC opponents and had a perfect 3-0 record…picked up his first win of the season vs Hartford on 3/17 after pitching 2.2 innings, allowing just one hit in a 7-6 win…earned his only start vs Samford on 4/7, going 3.0 innings with two hits and one run to earn the win…also recorded wins against Austin Peay (3/28), Southeast Missouri (4/4), Kennesaw Sate (4/14) and Georgia (4/22)…scattered three hits and allowed just one run and had three strikeouts in 3.2 innings as the Gamecocks claimed a 9-7 win over No. 1 Georgia on 4/22…had his longest outing of the year in the OVC Tournament, where he pitched 5.1 innings of relief vs Tennessee Tech in the Championship, allowing just three hits and no runs with four strikeouts…(2008) As a true freshman, made 15 appearances with eight starts on the mound…was named to the OVC All-Freshman team after posting a 3-2 record with a 4.74 ERA…tossed 49.1 innings, allowing 26 earned runs with 34 strikeouts and 19 walks…led the team with a 1.93 ERA vs OVC opponents, where he allowed just six earned runs in 28.0 innings on the mound…opponents hit .270 vs the right-hander…made his JSU debut with 2.0 IP during the season-opener vs Middle Tennessee on 2/22, giving up one hit…made his first career start at Troy on 4/15, allowing six hits in 4.1 innings with three strikeouts and a pair of walks…got his first win on 4/27 vs Eastern Kentucky, where he gave up just three hits and a pair of earned runs in 7.1 innings for a 3-2 win…allowed just two hits with a career-high five strikeouts to win his second game of the season on 5/4 at Morehead State…picked up his third win of the season on 5/16 at UT Martin, allowing one earned run and five hits in 6.0 innings in a 10-7 victory.
HIGH SCHOOL: Played for Craig Garner at Troup High School…was a first-team All-State selection and a first-team All-Region honoree as a senior…posted a 9-3 record with a 3.56 earned run average and batted better than .400 to be named team Most Valuable Player as a senior…holds school record for most innings pitched and most appearances by a pitcher…also lettered in football, where he was an All-Region punter, averaging more than 50 yards per punt…named Who’s Who Among American High School Students.
PERSONAL: Full name is Jordan Tyler Beistline…son of Rob and Suzy Beistline…born on April 29, 1989…has one younger sister, Bailey…his father, Rob, played baseball at Georgia Tech…lists the Boston Red Sox as his favorite major league team…majoring in Sociology at JSU.
