SUMMER BASEBALL: Played for the Holyoke Blue Sox of the New England Collegiate Baseball League with JSU teammate Sam Eberle…made 11 appearances with four starts and posted a 1-2 record with a 5.02 ERA…played for the Glens Falls Golden Eagles of the New York Collegiate League in 2009…played for the Ohio Warhawks in 2007 and 2008…posted a perfect 8-0 record and a 0.80 earned run average and tossed a perfect game to win the BCS Championship in 2008.
 
JSU CAREER:
 
(2011) Made 10 appearances with five starts as a redshirt sophomore…posted a 1-5 record with a 10.59 ERA…pitched 26.1 innings…allowed 46 hits, 37 runs, 31 earned runs with 16 strikeouts and 10 walks…was the opening day starter at Auburn, but got stuck with the loss after ginving up seven hits, six runs in 3.0 innings…had a season-high five strikeouts at Middle Tennessee (2/27) in a no-decision…pitched one-hit of relief at Alabama (3/23)…allowed just one hit in relief vs SIU Edwardsville (5/1) and also at Troy (5/3)…earned the start vs UAB (5/10), but got stuck with the loss after giving up five runs in 2.1 innings…picked up the win in a 15-12 JSU victory over Southeast Missouri (5/28) in the OVC Tournament after scattering seven hits and five earned runs in 5.1 innings.
 
(2010) Made nine appearances with five starts, but was granted a medical redshirt after missing the last two months with an injury…posted a 3-3 record in just 26.0 innings on the mound…allowed 43 hits, 36 runs, 33 earned runs, with 37 strikeouts and 16 walks…struggled in his first three starts on the mound, where he gave up 26 of his 33 earned runs…allowed no more than four hits in his final six appearances of the season…had his longest outing of the season, throwing 5.0 innings of relief at UT Martin, where he struck out a career-high nine batters…had eight strikeouts in just 3.0 innings against Eastern Michigan (3/14), where he only allowed one hit to earn his first win of the year…also got a win at Samford (3/24) and at UT Martin (3/28).
 
(2009) As a true freshman, made 20 appearances with 12 starts, tying for second most starts on the team…posted a 5-5 record with a 5.16 ERA…tossed 59.1 innings, allowing 60 hits, 34 earned runs with 53 strike-outs and 29 walks…made his collegiate debut at Appalachian State on 2/20, not allowing a hit in 1.0 inning…had four strikeouts in 2.0 innings vs Appalachian State on 2/22…earned his first win of the year on 2/27 at Middle Tennessee as JSU claimed a 10-6 win…made his first collegiate start against Harvard on 3/7…also recorded wins against Troy (3/18), Southern Ililinois (4/11), Eastern Kentucky (4/25) and Eastern Illinois (5/21)…tossed a career-long 6.1 innings vs Eastern Kentucky on 4/25, where he allowed four hits with three strikeouts…had five or more strikeouts five times…had a career-high nine strikeouts at Tennessee Tech on 5/9…picked up an 11-5 win over Eastern Illinois in the OVC Tournament, scattering four hits with five strikeouts on 5/21.
 
HIGH SCHOOL: Played for Craig Garner at Troup High School…was a four-year letterman…named the LaGrange Daily News County Most Valuable Player and the Player of the Year his senior year…was an All-State selection in 2007 and 2008…named to the All-County team his junior and senior years…also lettered in football, where he was a second-team All-District selection…was an honor student.
 
PERSONAL: Full name is Daniel Watts…son of Greg and Karen Watts…born on October 26, 1989…has two older brothers, Stephen and Ben…his father, Greg, played football at Jacksonville State from 1974-76…lists the Atlanta Braves as his favorite Major League team and Greg Maddux as his favorite player…majoring in Business Management at JSU.
