SUMMER BASEBALL: Played for the East Alabama Big Train of the Great South League in 2009.

JSU CAREER: (2010) Made 10 appearances with seven starts as a sophomore…finished with a 0-1 record and a 8.06 ERA…posted 22.1 innings on the mound, allowing 38 hits, 26 runs, 20 earned runs while recording 15 strikeouts and walking 15…had his best outing of the season at UAB (4/28), where he went 4.2 innings, allowed five hits and had four strikeouts.

(2009) As a redshirt freshman, made 17 appearances with four starts…posted a 1-3 record with an 8.45 ERA…tossed 33.0 innings, allowing 46 hits, 35 runs, 31 earned runs with 27 strikeouts and 10 walks…made his first collegiate start vs Appalachian State on 2/22, pitching 2.1 innings, giving up six hits and three earned runs…picked up his first career win after pitching 5.0 innings, allowing just four hits with three strikeouts in an 8-2 win over UAB on 5/5…allowed one hit or less in nine appearances…(2008) Sat out the season as a redshirt.

HIGH SCHOOL: Played for Samuel N. George at G.W. Carver High School in Montgomery…was named team Most Valuable Defensive Player…was selected to play in the East-West All-Star game…also lettered in football, basketball and track…was named football special teams MVP…was named All-Metro in football.

PERSONAL: Full name is Malcolm J. Thomas…son of Les Davis and Je’Cynthia Thomas…born on February 11, 1989…has one older sister, Whitney, and one younger brother, Cornelius…lists favorite Major League player as Greg Maddox…majoring in Sociology at JSU.
