JSU CAREER:
2011:
Played in all 11 games for the Gamecocks as a junior, starting at Defensive end in 10 of them…recorded 25 tackles, 19, solo, while notching four tackles for a loss and two sacks…had one interception, at Southeast Missouri on Nov. 12, and returned it nine yards…forced one fumble and was credited with three quarterback pressures…had a season-high six tackles, two for a loss, against Eastern Kentucky on Nov. 5…forced a fumble at Chattanooga on Sept. 10…had one sack at Murray State on Oct. 1 and his other at Southeast Missouri…also had a QB hurry in the SEMO game and the Murray State game.

2010: Appeared in the final 10 games of the season for the Gamecocks as a sophomore, starting four of them…recorded 31 tackles, 22 solo, for the Gamecocks, while picking up one sack and 4.0 tackles for a loss…added one quarterback hurry and one forced fumble…saw his first action of the season against Georgia State, carding a tackle in the win...posted his first sack of the season for an eight-yard loss against Eastern Illinois...finished the Murray State contest with five tackles, including 1.5 stops for a loss, and  a forced fumble...carded four tackles, including a tackle for a loss against Tennessee State...tallied five tackles against Austin Peay...carded four tackles versus Eastern Kentucky...assisted on five tackles against SEMO along with a stop for a one-yard loss…tied his season high against Wofford with his fourth-five-tackle performance, one that also saw him notch his first quarterback hurry of the year.

2009: Saw action as a reserve in nine of the Gamecocks’ 11 games in his freshman season…recorded 20 tackles, 11 solo, including a sack and 4.0 more behind the line of scrimmage…was credited with one pass defended…had one tackle for a loss in his JSU debut versus Georgia Tech (9/5)...credited with two tackles, one solo, a tackle for a loss and a pass deflection against Florida State (9/12)...had a career-high three tackles at Alabama A&M (9/19)...had a career-high six tackles and a sack at Nicholls State (9/26)...recorded two tackles, one solo, and a tackle for loss of 12 yards at Murray State (10/10)...had three tackles, two solo, at Austin Peay (10/31).

2008: Sat out the season as a redshirt.

HIGH SCHOOL: A four-year lettermen for Scott Rials at Elba High School…was an All-State selection as a senior, where he helped the Tigers advance to the state playoffs…was team captain and most valuable defensive lineman his senior season…named All-Area and All-Region…named to the Southeast Sun Super 12 in 2007 after finishing with 77 tackles and four sacks…had his best game versus Straughn, where he recorded 16 tackles in a 25-0 shutout win…named Who’s Who Among American High School Students.

PERSONAL: Full name is Dimetrio Martinez Tyson…son of Junior and Bridgett Tyson…born on Oct. 10, 1989…has one older brother, Demetrious…majoring in liberal studies at JSU.
