2011: Granted a medical redshirt after suffering an injury in preseason drills.
2010: Made an immediate impact to the JSU offensive line after a two-year junior college career…started all 12 games in the trenches at the left tackle spot…tallied eight pancakes and 48 knockdowns as a junior…graded out at 69% for the season, including a season-best 76% in JSU’s thumping of Austin Peay.
PREVIOUS SCHOOL: Played at East Mississippi Community College for Buddy Stephens…helped team to the most successful football season in school history with an 11-1 record as a sophomore…team claimed a 27-24 win over Arizona Western College in the Mississippi Bowl…team was ranked as high as No. 5 nationally and set school records for most wins in a season after helping team to first bowl appearance in 46 years…Lions claimed school’s first-ever Mississippi Association of Community & Junior College championship in 2009.
HIGH SCHOOL: Played at Starkville High School for Bill Lee…was a four-year lettermen…was a second-team All-State as a senior…helped the Yellow Jackets to an 9-2 record his senior year and into the second round of the state playoffs…also lettered in track and field, finished seventh in the state in the discus.
PERSONAL: Full name is Odie Rush, II…son of Brenda Rush and Benjamin Rush…has two brothers, Marcus and Ben, and one sister, Ashley…born on February 15, 1990…his brother, Ben, played football at Murray State from 2004-08…majoring in exercise science and wellness at JSU.
