JSU CAREER:
2012: Played in all 11 games for the Gamecocks as a sophomore and was in the starting lineup in 10 of them…was fourth on the team with 51 tackles, 27 solo and 24 assisted…had three tackles for a loss, four pass break-ups and one fumble recovery…returned that fumble recovery 75 yards for a touchdown in the Gamecocks’ Sept. 8 win over Chattanooga…recorded a season-high 10 tackles on Nov. 3 at UT Martin…had nine tackles vs. Southeast Missouri on Sept. 29 and seven in the season finale at Florida on Nov. 17...had at least one tackle in all 11 games.
2011: Played in all 11 games for the Gamecocks as a freshman, starting the final four at safety…tied for sixth on the team with 39 tackles, while his 34 solo stops were fifth on the squad…had three tackles for a loss, two of which came at Murray State on Oct. 1…nabbed a team-best three interceptions, including one that he returned 98 yards for a touchdown in the season finale at Tennessee State on Nov. 19…the interception return was the longest in JSU’s Division I history, the third-longest in JSU’s all-time history, the longest by a Gamecock since 1982 and the longest by an OVC player since 2007…recovered two fumbles and made a season-high seven stops at Kentucky on Oct. 22…also had an interception at Asutin Peay on Oct. 15 that he returned eight yards and one vs. Eastern Kentucky on Nov. 5 that had no return.
HIGH SCHOOL: Played at Marbury High School for Kyle Glover…was a two-time all-metro selection and was an all-county selection as a senior…was a four-year letterman and a three-year starter…helped the Bulldogs advance to the state playoffs…also lettered in basketball, where he was named team’s Most Valuable Player and was an all-area selection.
PERSONAL: Full name is Pierre Carmelle Warren…son of Horace and Clara Warren…has three brothers, Stan, Horace, Jr. and Wesley…born August 16, 1992, in Montgomery, Ala…majoring in liberal arts at JSU.
