HIGH SCHOOL: A four-year letterman for head coach Steve Smith at Piedmont High School in Piedmont, Ala…the Bulldogs’ team captain as a senior in 2012, when he led them to a 12-1 record and a No. 1 ranking in Class 3A in the AHSAA polls for much of the season…an all-county and all-region honoree in each his junior and senior seasons, and was named to The Anniston Star’s Dandy Dozen Team and the Pigskin Roundup Team after grading out at 92 percent as a senior…In four seasons, helped PHS to a combined 49-6 record, three region titles and one AHSAA Class 3A state title in 2009…was also an all-county selection in baseball for the Bulldogs in 2010.
