2009 OUTLOOK: Enters the fall as the No. 1 quarterback after a productive spring…enters his senior season as the school’s career leader in completion percentage (63.0), passing yards per game (210.7) and total offense per game (244.2).

JSU CAREER:
2008: Started all 11 games under center for the Gamecocks as a junior and posted one of the most impressive seasons in school history…was responsible for a school-record 26 touchdowns, including 19 passing and seven rushing…earned Second-Team All-OVC and OVC All-Newcomer Honors after completing 187 of his 297 passes for 2,318 yards, the third-highest total in school history…ranked 27th nationally with a 140.88 passing efficiency and was 28th nationally with 244.18 yards of total offense per game…his 19 passing touchdowns were third on the school’s single-season list, while his 63.0 completion percentage ranked second, his 210.7 passing yards per game (2nd), 2,686 yards of total offense (2nd), 244.18 total offense per game (2nd), 187 completions (3rd). 297 attempts (6th) and 140.88 pass efficiency (6th) all ranked among the tops in JSU’s single-season record books…was also second on the squad in rushing yards with 368 on 117 carries, and average of 33.5 yards per game and 3.1 yards per carry…connected on 13-of-21 passes for 119 yards and rushed 11 times for 50 yards against Tennessee State (11/15)...completed 21-of-32 passes for 252 yards and two touchdowns and rushed eight times for 25 yards against Tennessee Tech (11/8)...named the OVC Newcomer of the Week for the fifth time after completing 19-fo-29 passes for 271 yards and two touchdowns versus Austin Peay (11/1)...also had 10 carries for 50 yards and a touchdown vs. APSU...connected on 14-of-29 passes for 261 yards and two touchdowns against UT Martin (10/23)...tied a career-long with a 66-yard touchdown pass to James Wilkerson to pull JSU to within one-point in the UTM game...completed his first 12 passes and finished the afternoon completing 18-of-20 passes (89.5 percent) and a career-high four touchdown passes...named the OVC Player and Newcomer of the Week (10/19)...completed 21-of-41 passes for career-high 304 yards and two touchdowns but threw a career-high five interceptions against EKU (10/11)...also rushed 15 times for a 58 yards and two touchdowns vs. the Colonels...earned OVC Newcomer of the Week honors vs SEMO (10/4)...completed 16-of-22 passes for 239 yards and two touchdowns, marking the second straight week with 200 or more passing yards and two touchdown passes...named the OVC Offensive Player of the Week and OVC Newcomer of the Week after accounting for 300 of JSU’s 482 yards of total offense in JSU’s 23-10 win over Eastern Illinois (92/7)...completed 20-of-25 passes for 281 yards and a touchdown and rushed 10 times for 19 yards and two touchdowns vs. EIU...completed 12-of-24 passes for 122 yards and a touchdown while rushing seven times for 31 yards and a 35-yard touchdown against Chattanooga (9/20)...played the first half of JSU’s win over Alabama A&M (9/6), completing 11-of-17 passes for 138 yards and two touchdowns while rushing six times for 35 yards and a score...named the OVC Newcomer of the Week for his performance against AAMU...made his first start in a JSU uniform against Georgia Tech (8/28)...completed a career-high 23 passes on 37 attempts for 136 yards and two touchdowns...also rushed 18 times for 67 yards both career-highs.


OTHER COLLEGES:
2007: Played in 12 games with two starts for Les Miles at Louisiana State University...helped put LSU in the 2007 BCS National Championship game by stepping in for an injured Matt Flynn in the SEC title game and leading the Tigers to a 21-14 win over Tennessee...named MVP of SEC Championship Game after connecting on 20 of 30 passes for 243 yards and a touchdown in the win...also ran for 14 yards on nine carries in the win over Tennessee...for year, connected on 51 of 75 passes for 694 yards and eight touchdowns...only threw two interceptions...added 207 yards rushing and a pair of TDs during the 2007 season...other start came against Middle Tennessee State as he connected on 20 of his 25 passes for 298 yards and three touchdowns with an interception...saw action in a total of 12 games at quarterback, missing only the Alabama and Arkansas games...rushed for career-best 59 yards in win over South Carolina...had rushing TDs against Florida and Mississippi State...connected on all five of his passes for 84 yards and a pair of scores in win over Virginia Tech during the second week of the season.

2006: As a redshirt freshman in 2006, saw clean up duty at quarterback during his redshirt freshman season...played in five games and completed 1-of-4 passes for 10 yards...also rushed the ball three times for 13 yards...had a 12-yard run vs. Kentucky and finished with 17 yards rushing on two carries against the Wildcats...completed first pass of his career for 10 yards in the season opener against Louisiana-Lafayette...other action came against Arizona, Tulane, Mississippi State, Kentucky, and Fresno State...

2005: Sat out the 2005 season as a redshirt.

HIGH SCHOOL: Played for Larry Dauterieve at East St. John High School...called by many the top prospect in the nation in 2004...named the National High School Player of the Year by Ball Park and was named the National Offensive Player of the Year by USA Today...a consensus five-star All-American by every major recruiting publication...other honors included EA Sports Elite 11 Quarterback, Parade All-American, Touchdown Club of Columbus (Ohio) National Offensive Player of the Year, U.S. Army All-American Bowl Participant (West Roster), Louisiana's Mr. Football and Louisiana Gatorade Player of the Year ...rated the nation’s No. 1 prospect by ESPN...a dominating playmaker many called the most dangerous offensive weapon in the nation...no. 1 dual-threat quarterback who was nearly impossible to contain during his career...considered to have the strongest arm in the country with a quick release and pinpoint accuracy...racked up a Louisiana high school record 5,006 total yards of offense as a senior, including 3,546 yards passing and 1,460 yards rushing...accounted for 67 total touchdowns (30 passing, 37 rushing) in 2004...had one of the most dominating high school careers in state history totaling 12,705 yards of offense (9,025 passing; 3,680 rushing), which ranks second all-time...ranks fourth on the state's all-time passing list...had 155 total touchdowns (84 passing, 71 rushing) in four years...totaled 21 tackles and two interceptions on defense...returned punts of 50 and 65 yards for touchdowns...Aaccounted for 495 yards of offense in his final high school game versus Evangel in the state playoffs...three-sport athlete who played shooting forward for the basketball team and centerfield for the baseball team.
