Biography

JSU OUTLOOK: Showed great improvement throughout spring practice and is projected as the starting Bandit…expected to see a great deal of playing time this fall.

JSU CAREER:

2008: Started all 11 games at linebacker for the Gamecocks…was fifth on the team in tackles with 41, 15 solo…had one sac and three tackles for a loss, while also recording three quarterback hurries…broke up one pass…earned OVC Defensive Player of the Week honors, after recording a career-high 11 tackles, eight solos, and returned a blocked field goal for touchdown in the first quarter versus Tennessee State (11/15)...credited with four tackles, three solos versus Austin Peay (11/1)...posted four tackles, three solos, and 1 1/2 sacks for six yards versus UT Martin (10/23)...recorded two tackles, one solo, against Murray State (10/18)...made his third start of the season and had two assisted tackles against Eastern Kentucky (10/11)...registered a season-high five tackles, four solos, against Southeast Missouri (10/4)...had four tackles, two solos, in the Eastern Illinois game (9/27)...made his second start of the season, recording one solo tackle in the UTC game (9/20)...Credited with four tackles, one for a loss of three yards, versus Alabama A&M (9/6)...started at outside linebacker against Georgia Tech (8/28)...registered four tackles, one solo.

2007:
Saw action in all 11 games for the Gamecocks…earned his first career start at Samford on Nov. 3…finished the season with 36 tackles, 28 solo and one for a loss, one quarterback hurry and a fumble recovery…picked up a season-high nine tackles at Murray State on Sept. 28, including one behind the line of scrimmage…tallied seven stops against Eastern Illinois on Nov. 10…recovered a fumble against UT Martin on Oct. 4 and picked up his QB hurry vs. Tennessee Tech on Oct. 20.

HIGH SCHOOL: Played at Fort Payne High School for Paul Ellis…was team captain as a senior and was an All-State honorable mention selection…was a two-time All-Region player…played in the North-South All-Star game as a junior…finished his senior season with 112 tackles and eight sacks…also lettered in Wrestling for three years.

PERSONAL: Full name is Christopher Andrew Ridgeway…son of Neal and Becky Ridgeway…born on June 11, 1987…has one older sister, Adrianne, and two younger brothers, Zach and Nick…majoring in Sociology at JSU.
