JSU OUTLOOK: Transferred from Auburn University in the spring and worked hard to improve his punting skills…enters the fall as the No. 1punter.
 
AT AUBURN: Sat out the 2008 season as a redshirt…as a true freshman in 2007, averaged 43.4 yards on 16 punts for the Tigers…nine of his 16 punts landed inside the 20…averaged  41.2  yards with two punts inside the 20 against Mississippi State…season-best 45.5 yards per punt against New Mexico State, earning Co-Special Team Player of the Week honors…had a season-long punt of 61 yards against Tennessee Tech.

HIGH SCHOOL: Played at Sylvania High School for Brian Mashburn…kicked for five seasons and punted as a senior, where he earned First-Team All-State honors by the Alabama Sports Writers Association as a senior in Class 3A…was an All-County selection as a punter and was a three-time All-County place kicker …helped team to a 9-2 mark and was unbeaten until Week 9 and shared the Class 3, Region 6 crown with Fyffe…averaged 40.2 yards per punt as a senior…finished hitting 111-of-123 during his five year career…hit a career-long 52 yard field goal against Westbrook Christian during his sophomore season.

PERSONAL: Full name is Patrick Gregory Tatum…son of Greg and Sandra Tatum…born August 15, 1988…has two brothers, Elisha and Jordan…majoring in exercise science and wellness.
