2009 OUTLOOK: Started a lot of games as a freshman at catcher last season and did a good job…has gotten good at handling pitchers and taking care of things behind the plate…a physical guy and a hard worker…when the game starts, he loves to play and his enthusiasm rubs off…enters the season with the longest active hitting streak on the team at 10 games
SUMMER BASEBALL: Played in the Hawaii Collegiate League for the Hawaii Aliis in 2008…batted .333 with a pair of doubles.
JSU CAREER: (2008) As a true freshman, made 35 appearances with 27 starts, all at catcher…finished the season with a .300 batting average, with five doubles, one home run and 14 RBI…made his JSU debut in the season-opener vs MTSU, where he went 2-for-4 with one RBI…went 2-for-4 with one RBI avs Appalachian State on 3/15 and also had a pair of hits at Troy, where he was 2-for-4 with a double and scored three runs…had his best game of the year at Alabama State on 4/30, where he went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles and one RBI…hit his first collegiate home run at UT Martin on 5/17, where he went 2-for-3 and drove in a career-high four RBI…raised his average .114 points over the final month, when he began a 10-game hitting streak…had seven multiple-hit games and one multiple-RBI game…enters the season with the longest active hitting streak on the team at 10 games.
