2010 OUTLOOK: Pitched in many big games a year ago and proved himself as a big game pitcher…was very consistent in the league last year and gave team a chance to win game in and game out…is expected to be in the rotation again this season.
JSU CAREER: (2009) Made 14 appearances with 13 starts for the Gamecocks on the mound and led the team with a 7-3 record and a 3.93 ERA…his seven wins tied for the sixth most in the OVC and his 13 starts tied for fourth most in the OVC…tossed two complete games with one shutout…pitched a team-high 71.0 innings, allowing 70 hits, 38 runs, 31 earned runs, while recording 52 strikeouts to just 24 walks…opponents hit just .255 against the right-hander, which was the seventh best in the OVC…made his JSU debut at Appalahican State on 2/21, where he pitched 2 2/3 innings, allowing six earned runs and suffered a 9-6 loss…picked up his first win in his next start, where he tossed six shutout innings and allowed just three hits with six strikeouts in a 7-6 win over Harvard on 3/7…pitched 1 2/3 inning of relief vs Miami (Ohio) on 3/13 and had three strikeouts in his only relief work of the season…was named the College Baseball Foundation All-Star and OVC Pitcher of the Week on 3/23 after not allowing an earned run in 14 innings of work, while posting a 2-0 record as the Gamecocks went 5-1 overall as team…He pitched a complete-game shutout in a 10-0 win over Bradley (3/16) with five strikeouts and then tossed seven solid innings at Murray State (3/22), where he had five strikeouts and allowed just four hits and two runs…earned a 14-3 win over Eastern Kentucky (4/25) afet allowing just two runs in six innings…picked up his sixth win of the year in a 6-1 decision against Morehead State, allowing just four hits and no runs in six innings…was named to the OVC All-Tournament team after pitching the Gamecocks to a 9-0 win over Morehead State, allowing just five hits in eight innings, with five strikeouts.
JUNIOR COLLEGE: Played for Randy Putman at Wallace State in Hanceville from 2007-08…made 14 appearances as a freshman, posting a 2-1 record with a 5.93 earned run average…tossed 44.0 innings, giving up 29 earned runs with 29 strikeouts…as a sophomore in 2008, appeared in 16 games and posted a 4-1 record with a 2.94 ERA…tossed 52.0 innings, allowing 17 earned runs with 48 strikeouts and 22 walks…opponents hit just .190…had a season-high five strikeouts three times, in the opener vs Motlow Community College versus Shelton State and Lawson State.
