2010 OUTLOOK: Had an outstanding junior season, from a power stand point…brings experience behind the plate and has caught many games over the last three years…looking to improve his average this year.

SUMMER BASEBALL: Played for the Union City Greyhounds in the KIT League in 2009, where he led the league in RBI.

JSU CAREER: (2009) As a junior, played in 43 games and had 36 starts, with all 36 behind the plate…batted .215 with five doubles and a career-high 10 home runs…finished with 26 RBI…posted five multiple-hit games and six multiple-RBI games…hit his first home run of the season against Austin Peay (3/29), where he went 2-for-3 and stole his first career base…drove in a career-high five RBI at Samford (4/7), where he hit a 3-run home run in the fourth inning in a 16-1 win over the Bulldogs…went 2-for-3 and drove in three runs at No. 6 Georgia (4/29) as the Gamecocks rallied for a 16-8 win…hit a pair of solo home runs at No. 10 Alabama (5/12), the second time he has multiple home runs in his career…finished the season on a three-game hitting streak…(2008) As a sophomore, played in 44 games and had 35 starts, with 31 as catcher and four as DH…batted .262 with eight doubles and five home runs…finished with 21 RBI…had six multiple-hit games and five multiple-RBI games…had his best game of the season, going 3-for-4 with four RBI and two home runs at Morehead State (5/4)…drove in three runs after going 2-for-2 with three walks vs Tennessee Tech on 5/11… batted .294 in OVC only games, going 20-for-68, with four home runs and 13 RBI.had a season long seven game hitting streak…(2007) Played in 37 games with 23 starts as a true freshman, with all 23 starts at catcher…batted .238, going 19-for-80 with five doubles and 16 RBI…made his collegiate debut at Middle Tennessee on 2/18 and went 2-for-3 with three RBI on a pair of doubles and scored one run…had a career-high three hits twice, first vs Northwestern State on 3/9, going 3-for-5, and in the OVC Tournament against Samford, where he was 3-for-3…drove in two runs on four different occasions…was 12-for-32 against left-handers, which was second best on the team…had a season-best three game hitting streak.

HIGH SCHOOL:
Played for Jay Estes and Scott Brackett at Gadsden High School for five years…earned first-team All-State honors as a senior after batting .411 with nine home runs and 32 RBI…was selected to play in the East vs West All-Star game as a senior and also played in the North vs South All-Star game as a junior…named to the Alabama Top 100 list…finished his five-year career at Gadsden with a .396 batting average with 17 home runs and 117 RBI…helped the Tigers to the Area 12 Championship as a senior…also lettered in football, where he was team captain and earned first-team All-State honors as a senior…was an honor student.

PERSONAL: Full name is Andrew Evan Edge…son of Evan Edge and Nancy Edge-Schmitz…born on December 31, 1987…his father, Evan, played baseball at JSU and also in the Cincinnati Reds organization, while his uncle, Craig Edge, also played baseball at JSU…has two younger brothers, Adam and Alex…majoring in Sociology at JSU.
