2010 OUTLOOK: One of the top defensive players to ever play the outfield for the Gamecocks and does so much for the pitching staff with the balls that he can run down…a fourth-year player that is expected to start in center field every day…has pop in his bat and has improved each year at the plate.
SUMMER BASEBALL: Played the 2008 summer for the Beatrice (Neb.) Bruins in the Mink League…batted .275 with six doubles, two triples, three home runs and 19 RBI.
JSU CAREER: (2009) As a junior, was named to the All-OVC second-team after playing and starting in 52 games, all in centerfield…batted .320 with 11 doubles, three triples and 10 home runs…finished with a team-high 58 RBI and posted a .549 slugging percentage…led the team with 14 stolen bases (16 attempts)…finished the season with 20 multiple-hit games and led the team with 15 multiple-RBI games, which was the seventh most in the OVC…drove in a career-high six runs, after going 4-for-4 with a pair of 3-run home runs against Eastern Kentucky (4/25)…also drove in five runs after going 3-for-5 with a 3-run homer against Harvard (3/7)…led the team with 26 two-out RBI…was named the OVC Player of the week on May 5 after batting .417 to help JSU to its second straight win over nationally ranked Georgia, going 3-for-5 to drive in four runs with a double and a home run against the No. 6 Bulldogs…he also added a two-run home run in JSU’s 3-0 win over Morehead State (5/2)…went 3-for-6 and drove in four runs vs Eastern Illinois (5/21) in the OVC Tournament…finished the season on a 6-game hitting streak…(2008) As a sophomore, was just one of two players to start all 58 games, all in centerfield…batted .304 with nine doubles, one triple and six home runs…drove in 43 RBI and was hit 10 times…was second on the team with 10 stolen bases (13 attempts)…had three 4-hit games (at Alabama State on 4/30; at Morehead State on 5/3; at UAB on 5/7)…drove in a career-high five runs, after going 4-for-6 at Alabama State, including a grand slam home run in the sixth inning…drove in four runs at Morehead State on 5/3, going 4-for-5…led the team with a .529 batting average with bases loaded, going 9-for-17…had 12 2-out RBI on the season…had 15 multiple-hit games and 12 multiple-RBI games…had a hit in 15 of his last 16 games and is currently riding an eight-game hitting streak…(2007) As a true freshman, played in 53 games and earned 35 starts, all in centerfield…finished the season batting .308 with 11 doubles, two triples and a pair of home runs to earn OVC All-Freshman honors…drove in 24 runs and was hit a team-high 11 times…made his collegiate debut in the season opener as a pinch-hitter at MTSU on 2/16 and got his first start on 2/18 at MTSU, where he went 1-for-3 with one run scored…hit his first home run on 3/27 at Troy and also hit a homer at Eastern Kentucky on 4/22…had his best game by going 3-for-5 with three RBI and two runs scored vs Eastern Illinois on 4/15 and he also had three hits in his next game, going 3-for-3 at UAB with three runs scored on 4/17…batted .600 (3-for-5) vs Samford to lead the Gamecocks…was 1-for-5 (.200) as a pinch-hitter…finished season with 13 multiple-hit games and six multiple-RBI games…had a season-long hitting streak of six games.
HIGH SCHOOL: Played for Jeff Mauldin at Clay-Chalkville High School…was a four-year lettermen, where he helped the Cougars to the 2003 State Championship…named team’s Best Defensive Player as a junior and as a senior…finished his four-year career with a .378 batting average, recording 150 hits in 397 at-bats…posted 111 RBI’s, 151 runs scored, 35 doubles and 85 stolen bases during his career…played in the North vs South All-Star game as a junior…played in the East vs West All-Star game…attended the Alabama Top 100 Showcase.
PERSONAL: Full name is Daniel Isaac Adamson…son of Randy and Dawn Adamson…born on September 15, 1987…has one older Brother, Ben, and one older sister, Erin…lists Nolan Ryan as his favorite player and the Atlanta Braves as his favorite team…majoring in Physical Education at JSU.
