2019: Made appearances in 11 games in his first year for the Red and White, including his first career start at home against Tennessee State...recorded 17 tackles on the year including his first career solo stop...picked up 1.5 tackles for loss of two yards and had a quarterback hurry...had six games throughout the year with at least two tackles including three at home against Southeast Missouri State.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2018 all-state defensive lineman for Carver High School in Columbus, Ga…also earned First Team All-Region honors from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution in 2017 and 2018…was named all-county and first team all-district in his junior and senior campaigns…wrapped up 28 solo tackles and six sacks in 2018…was a Tru 19 All-Star and competed in the Rising Senior game…also lettered in soccer and track…chose JSU over offers from UAB, Chattanooga, Austin Peay, Marshall, Southeast Missouri, Charleston Southern and Alabama A&M.
PERSONAL: Born Sept. 21, 2000 in Columbus, Ga…son of Rod West and Teresa Russaw…has one brother - Darius West, and a sister - Nicole West…majoring in kinesiology at JSU.
