JSU CAREER: Fall 2020/Spring 2021: Started all 13 spring and fall contests in his first season with the Gamecocks... received All-OVC Second Team honors for his achievements at defensive end... recorded 39 tackles including 13 unassisted stops and 5.5 tackles for 18 yards lost... made his first sack in a Gamecock uniform on October 17 against North Alabama... five times he recorded at least five tackles in a game including a career-high seven with three solo stops in the fall season opener against Florida State on October 3...finished the season with 15 quarterback hurries.
PRIOR TO JSU: Spent two seasons as a member of the Florida Gators football team, redshirting after playing in three games in 2018 and then seeing action in seven games as a redshirt junior in 2019…prior to UF, played in all 18 games in two seasons for head coach Larry Williams at Hinds Community College...Eagles posted an 8-10 record during his career…totaled 32 tackles, two sacks and 9.5 tackles for a loss as a freshman in 2016…recorded 61 tackles, one sack and 10 tackles for a loss in 2017…named Hinds Community College Deans’ Scholar for the Spring 2018 semester.
HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped for head coach John Palmer at Port St. Joe High School in Port St. Joe, Fla…played in 35 games and racked up 244 total tackles, 15 sacks, 20 tackles for a loss, three pass deflections, four forced fumbles and seven fumble recoveries…played in the FHSAA state championship game as a junior (2014) and senior (2015).
PERSONAL: Born on July 28, 1998, in Apalachicola, Fla…the son of Delmon Sanders and Stacy Cummings…has two brothers – Trey and Dominic…Trey is a running back at the University of Alabama…majoring in integrated studies at JSU.
