JSU CAREER:
2019: Started the first 11 games of the season as a redshirt sophomore for the Gamecocks…earned Second-Team All-Ohio Valley Conference honors after anchoring an offensive line that blocked for the top offense in the Ohio Valley Conference, one that gained 419 yards per game…helped protect a JSU passing game that led the OVC and ranked 14th nationally with 296 yards per game.
2018: Saw action in all 13 games as a redshirt freshman for the Gamecocks, earning the start in five-straight at one point…part of an offensive front that paved the way for one of the most prolific attacks in school history…led JSU to 6,465 total yards, the third-most in a season in school-history, as well as a school-record 3,864 passing yards…helped JSU score 520 points, third-most in school history.
2017: Sat out the season as a redshirt.
HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped for head coach Paul Ellis at Fort Payne High School in Fort Payne, Ala…named first team All-Region in each his junior and senior seasons…helped the Wildcats to two eight-win seasons…played on both sides for FPHS…on defense, totaled 85 tackles, four sacks and 11 hurries as a senior, while amassing 175 tackles, 15.5 sacks and 30 hurries over his prep career.
PERSONAL: Born on Feb. 23, 1999, in Fort Payne, Ala…the son of Heath Shaddix and Lisa Powell…has a younger brother – Matthew, who is a wide receiver for the Gamecocks…majoring in exercise science and wellness at JSU.
