2014: Played in all 12 games for the Gamecocks as a junior, starting on the defensive line twice…recorded 16 tackles, nine solo and 3.0 for a loss…had a season-high three tackles twice, at Michigan State in the Aug. 29 season opener and against Tennessee Tech on Oct. 25…had a tackle for a loss at Michigan State, at Tennessee State on Oct. 11 and at Southeast Missouri on Nov. 22...had two tackles in a game three times.
PRIOR TO JSU (Tennessee):
2013: Sat out the season as a redshirt.
2012: Did not see action in any games as a sophomore with the Vols.
2011: Appeared in five games for the Vols, playing as a reserve lineman in the second half of the season…was one of 16 true freshmen to see action for the Vols…made his collegiate debut on the defensive line vs. Buffalo on Oct. 1.
HIGH SCHOOL: Played for current JSU head coach John Grass at Oxford High School in Oxford, Ala…a two-star prospect by Rivals and ESPN.com and a three-star by Scout, who listed him as the No. 62 overall defensive tackle in his class…named to Team Alabama by the Alabama High School Athletic Directors and Coaches Association…competed in the 24th annual Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Classic…named First Team 6A All-State by the Alabama Sports Writers Association…as a senior, finished with more than 75 tackles, 36 tackles for loss, 20 quarterback pressures and 12 sacks…tallied more than 60 tackles, 28 tackles for loss, 12 quarterback hurries and nine sacks as a junior in 2009…recorded 52 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, eight QB pressures and five sacks as a sophomore in 2008.
PERSONAL: Full name is Allan Jamal Carson…born on September 30, 1992, in Anniston, Ala…son of James and Millicent Carson...has one brother, Sheffton Goodson, and one sister, Darenda Goodson...cousin, Trae Elston, is a defensive back at Ole Miss…received his degree in arts and sciences from Tennessee in just three years and working towards his masters degree at JSU.
