2008: Played in all 11 games as a reserve safety and on special teams…recorded 11 tackles, five solos, two quarterback hurries and one interception…recorded a season-high three solo tackles against Murray State (10/18)…intercepted a pass and returned it 21 yards to set up a JSU score against Chattanooga (9/20)…

OTHER COLLEGE: Played one year at Tusculum College for Frankie DeBusk.

HIGH SCHOOL: Played at Hiram High School for Tom Rowe…was a four-year lettermen for the Hornets…also ran track and played basketball.

PERSONAL: Full name is Michael Anthony Owens…son of Rahana Whitehead…born on Dec. 29, 1986…has two sisters, Chaquira and Sharhanda…majoring in education.
