Biography

JSU CAREER: 2017: Appeared in all 12 games as the Gamecocks kicker as a junior…named an Ohio Valley Conference Second-Team Specialist…deemed OVC Specialist of the Week on Oct. 29…tied his career-high for PAT’s in a season with 37…booted a career-best 50-yard field goal Oct. 21 at Eastern Illinois…his 50-yard field goal late in the second quarter at Eastern Illinois was the longest of his career and tied for the sixth-longest in JSU history. It was just the seventh kick of 50 yards or longer in school history and the longest by a Gamecock since Griffin Thomas’ 52-yarder vs. Eastern Kentucky on Nov. 9, 2013…set a career-high with three field goals made Oct. 28 vs. Southeast Missouri…received Co-OVC Specialist of the Week Honors following his performance at SEMO…including his 50-yarder against EIU, hit four field goals of 40 yards or more…kicked a 49-yard field goal on Sept. 23 vs. Liberty…hit a 46-yard field goal on Oct. 14 vs. Eastern Kentucky and a 40-yarder Nov. 4 vs. Murray State…ranked 33rd in the FCS with an average of 1.08 field goals made per game and 37th in the nation with a 72.2 field goal percentage…tops in the OVC in total points with 77, hitting 38 of 40 PAT’s and 13 of 18 field goal attempts…averaged 7.0 points per game with 56 total points to lead all OVC offensive players. 

2016: Served as the Gamecocks primary placekicker during his redshirt sophomore season…earned OVC Specialist of the Week on Oct. 30 after converting 5-of-6 PAT attempts, 2-2 field goal attempts and averaged 42.0 yards on two punts against Eastern Illinois…finished the year 12-of-19 in field goal attempts and 37-for-43 in PAT attempts…had seven games with 100 percent on PAT attempts…went 4-for-4 on PAT attempts against North Alabama and at Liberty…went 1-for-1 on PAT attempts at LSU…set a career high with five made PAT attempts against Eastern Illinois on Oct. 29…converted three PAT attempts in the Gamecocks’ second-round playoff game against Youngstown State…had five games with a 100 percent on field goal attempts…went 2-for-2 on field goal attempts at LSU on Sept. 10…also hit two field goals three other times during the season: Tennessee Tech on Oct. 8, Eastern Illinois on Oct. 29 and UT Martin on Nov. 19…also averaged 38 yards on three punting attempts, all of which resulted in being fair caught. 

JSU CAREER: 2015: Appeared in six games as a redshirt freshman and made his lone field goal attempt, 22 yards, against Tennessee State…recorded nine kickoffs for 488 yards and two touchbacks…converted five of his six PAT’s.

2014: Sat out the season as a redshirt.

HIGH SCHOOL: Played at Enterprise High School for David Faulkner…helped the Wildcats to a spot in the AHSAA State Playoffs and advancing o the second round after topping Spain Park High School in double overtime in the opening round…EHS set a team record for points scored in a season with 397 in 2013…paved the way for EHS to average 33.1 points per game.

PERSONAL: Full name is Cade Stinnett…was born on March 20, 1996…is the son of Nan Stover and Slade Stinnett…his father kicked for the Gamecocks’ 1992 national championship team…majoring in biology at JSU.
