JSU CAREER: 2017: Started all 12 games at inside linebacker for the Gamecocks his redshirt junior season…recorded a career-best 61 tackles in his third season in a JSU uniform…credited with 28 unassisted tackles and 33 assisted tackles…had 5.5 tackles for loss, totaling 21 negative yards for opposing offenses…earned 0.5 sacks against Tennessee State on Nov. 16, hitting the Tigers for a loss of seven yards…broke up two passes and hurried the quarterback on four occasions…went on a streak of four games with at least 0.5 tackles for loss, combining for 3.5 TFL’s against Eastern Kentucky, Eastern Illinois, Southeast Missouri and Murray State…batted passes against Chattanooga, Georgia Tech and Austin Peay, breaking up one completion in each contest…recorded a season-high nine tackles in the Gamecocks’ season-opening win over the Mocs, including six solo tackles and three assisted…ranked 32nd in OVC with 61 total tackles.
2016: Saw action in all 12 games, including earning the start in eight…finished the season with 54 total tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss and 1.0 sacks…credited with eight quarterback hurries and three pass breakups…set a career high for tackles in a game with 10 against UT Martin on Nov. 19…recorded at least one tackle in every game played…had 18 combined total tackles in the games when the Gamecocks clinched share of third-straight OVC title at Murray State (8) and outright against UT Martin (10)…had 5-or-more tackles in six games…started the with a 7-tackle performance in the season opener against North Alabama…recorded lone sack of the year against Tennessee Tech on Oct. 8.
2015: Appeared in 12 games, started two, and finished with 22 tackles and four tackles for loss. …recorded a season-high five tackles against Mississippi Valley State…started at linebacker in the National Championship Game, recording three stops against North Dakota State.
2014: Sat out the season as a redshirt.
HIGH SCHOOL: Played for head coach Jack Whigham at Opp High School…rated a two-star recruit by 247Sports.com…was the Bobcats’ Team Defensive MVP as a senior, when he recorded over 100 tackles and led his team to the AHSAA Class 3A playoffs…earned first-team All-Region honors in his junior and senior seasons at OHS…selected to play in the Offense-Defense All-American Bowl in the Citrus Bowl in Orlando…recorded over 220 tackles in his career…chose JSU over Kentucky, Auburn, Middle Tennessee, South Alabama and Troy.
