JSU CAREER: 
2012: Played in all 11 games for the Gamecocks as a junior and started in the defensive backfield in the final 10…tied for fifth on the team with 43 tackles, 31 solo…recorded at least one tackle in 10 of his 11 games…had a season-high eight tackles, all solo, on Nov. 10 vs. Austin Peay, besting his previous season high of six set the week before at UT Martin…recorded five tackles twice, at Eastern Kentucky on Sept. 22 and vs. Tennessee State on Oct. 20…both five-tackle games were all solo stops.

2011: Saw action in all 11 games for the Gamecocks as a sophomore, earning the start in the first three…had a pair of interceptions, tied for second on the team, and two pass break-ups to go along with 15 tackles…12 of his tackles were unassisted…picked his first pass of the season in the opener vs. UT Martin on Sept. 1…intercepted a pass at Murray State on Oct. 1…picked up a season-high four tackles at Kentucky on Oct. 22.

2010: Saw action in 11 of the Gamecocks’ 12 games as a redshirt freshman, starting three in the team’s defensive backfield…totaled 31 tackles, 26 solo and one for a loss…was second on the team with two interceptions and added three pass break-ups…saw his first action as a Gamecock in the win over Ole Miss...had an interception return for 19 yards against Chattanooga and broke up a UTC pass attempt...made three stops against Georgia State, including his first career stop behind the line of scrimmage…snagged his second interception of the year against Eastern Illinois, setting up JSU for a scoring opportunity with a 20-yard return…made a solo stop against Murray State...turned in a season-best five solo tackles against UT Martin…finished with four tackles against Tennessee State, along with a pass break-up...posted six tackles versus Austin Peay...finished with three tackles and a QB hurry at EKU...finished with six tackles and recovered a fumble at Tennessee Tech.

2009: Sat out the season as a redshirt.

HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped at Collinsville High School for Alan Beckett…was named honorable-mention all-state as a senior after rushing for 1,147 yards and throwing for 710 yards…had his best high school game after rushing for 277 yards on 19 carries vs Valley Head…was a first-team all-region selection in 2008…was named the Times-Journal Offensive Player of the Year…named to the WAFF television Elite 11.

PERSONAL: Full name is Robert Gray…son of Tangelia Mcelrath…born on June 30, 1991…has one older sister, Tameka, and three younger brothers, Jaydon, Shon and Kevin…majoring in criminal justice at JSU.
