JSU CAREER:
2012: Played in six games on the left side of the Jax State offensive line…earned starts against Eastern Kentucky, Tennessee State and Murray State…helped the Gamecocks’ ground attack finish third in the Ohio Valley Conference, averaging 191 yards per game…Jax State ranked second in the OVC against conference foes with 217 yards rushing per game and a 4.6 yards per carry mark in conference match ups.

2011: Saw action in five games on the offensive line…played in four games against Ohio Valley Conference competition…turned in 17 knockdowns and participated in 88 total plays.

2010: Sat out the season as a redshirt.

PRIOR TO JSU: Played the 2009 season at Garden City Community College

HIGH SCHOOL: Played at Chapel High School in Douglasville, Ga., for Chris Parker…helped the Panthers to back-to-back Class 5A state playoff appearances…team posted a 7-4 record his senior year, including a 6-3 mark in region play…helped team to first playoff appearance his junior year and team was named the Top Turnaround Program in the State of Georgia by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

PERSONAL: Full name is Michael Taylor Johnstone…son of Forrest and Dani Johnstone…born on September 19, 1990, in Raleigh, N.C…has one younger brother, Logan…his father, Forrest, played basketball at Pfieffer…married to Paige KEarley Johnstone and the couple has a newborn child, Ryder Tate Johnstone…majoring in physical education at JSU.
