2010: Played nine games and totaled three tackles…saw playing time but did not record a tackle in season opener vs. Arkansas State…limited snaps vs. South Carolina…saw extended playing time vs. ULM and notched one solo tackle…saw snaps vs. LSU but did not have a tackle…resisted one solo tackle vs. Ole Miss…played vs. UTC but left in first half with injury…played vs. Alabama but did not have a tackle…had one solo tackle and a QB hurry in win over South Carolina in SEC Championship Game.

2009: Appeared in four games before taking a medical redshirt…totaled nine tackles…in first collegiate game, had one solo tackle in season opener vs. Louisiana Tech…also had one solo stop vs. Mississippi State…had one assisted tackle vs. West Virginia…against Ball State, set season high with six tackles, one solo…did not play last eight games due to injury.

HIGH SCHOOL: Played at Bessemer Academy for Coach Josh Wright…had 114 tackles as a senior and returned two fumbles for touchdowns…on offense during his senior season, caught 43 passes for 860 yards and 17 touchdowns…as a junior, made 112 tackles, including 11 sacks, and had five interceptions and a defensive touchdown…named the AISA Back of the Year and to the all-state team by the Alabama Sports Writers Association as a senior…ranked as the nation’s No. 31 middle linebacker by Scout.com…23rd among outside linebackers and 16th on the Alabama Postseason Top 40 by Rivals.com…No. 42 outside linebacker by ESPN.com/Scouts, Inc.…No. 10 on The Birmingham News’ Super Seniors list…Listed as the No. 13 player from Alabama by SuperPrep…PrepStar All-Southeast Region.

PERSONAL: Full name is Harris Joseph Gaston…born on Feb. 24, 1991, in Kansas City, Mo…the son of Terrance and Elonda Gaston…has two brothers, Deron and Derrick, and two sisters, Rahnequa and Lenika…received his bachelor’s degree from Auburn and is working towards his graduate degree at JSU.
