2009 OUTLOOK: Projected as the starting Nose Tackle entering the fall…expected to be the leader on the defensive line.

JSU CAREER:
2008:
Started all 11 games as the anchor of the Gamecocks’ defensive line as a junior…earned Second Team All-OVC honors after picking up 34 tackles, 17 solo, including three sacks and seven for a loss…had two quarterback hurries to go along with a pair of forced fumbles and a blocked kick…posted four solo tackles versus Tennessee State (11/15)...had three tackles, one solo, versus Tennessee Tech (11/8)...posted four solo tackles and one tackle for loss versus Austin Peay (11/1)...registered three tackles, two solos, and a sack versus UT Martin (10/23)...credited with four tackles, two solos, against Murray State (10/18)...had three stops, one solo, and a quarterback hurry against EKU (10/11)...tied a career-high with five tackles, three solos, and forced a fumble against Southeast Missouri (10/4)...recorded a career-high two sacks and tied for the team-high with four tackles against Chattanooga (9/20)...had two tackles, one solo, in his second start of the season against Alabama A&M (9/6)...started at nose tackle in the season opener against Georgia Tech (8/28)...made two solo tackles, one for loss of one yard.

2007:
Played in 11 games…Saw action at nose guard in seven games and played on the offensive line in each of the first three games of the season…Made 18 tackles, 11 solo and seven assisted…Had five tackles for loss with two sacks…Had two quarterback hurries…Was credited with three pass break ups…Played a total of 179 snaps on defense and graded out at 89 percent…Played 175 snaps on the offensive line and graded out at 72 percent.

2006: Appeared in all 11 games…recorded 17 total tackles, 13 of which were solo with one sack…also recorded three quarterback hurries, one pass deflection and one pass break-up…had four tackles for loss for 14 yards…recorded a career high five tackles on 9/16 vs. SEMO…had four tackles on 10/14 at Mississippi State.

HIGH SCHOOL:
Prepped at Walter Wellborn High School for Chris Cagle…recorded 78 solo tackles as a senior with 24 assists and had 16 tackles for loss…was a first-team All-State selection as a senior and earned second-team honors as a junior…was named team Most Valuable Lineman both in 2004 and 2005…had his best game of the season with 14 tackles vs Jacksonville…also lettered in wrestling, where he finished third in the state as an individual…guided the Panthers to the 2006 Class 4A State Championship as a senior and to the County and Sectional Championships as a junior.

PERSONAL: Full name is Timothy Brandt Thomas…son of Tim and Lynn Thomas…has one older brother, Brody, who played football at JSU…born on January 17, 1988…his father, Tim Thomas, played football at Jacksonville State…major is Communication at JSU.
