JSU CAREER
2014: An 11-game starter on the JSU offensive line unit that led the Ohio Valley Conference in total offense and rushing offense…had one of the best season grades of the returning players at 89 percent…the offensive side of the ball ranked fourth in the NCAA in total offense and established a new school record for yards per game mark at 510.8 yard of offense…named to the OVC All- First Team…member of the offensive line that allowed just 18 sacks throughout the 2014 season, which was third-best in the conference…keyed JSU on third down conversions as a junior as the club ranked second in the OVC in moving the chains on third down.

2013: Started all 15 games on the left side of the JSU offensive line…graded out at 86 percent on the season and paved the way for the Gamecock offense to reach new heights rushing the ball as they led the Ohio Valley Conference in rushing offense and scored a league-best 48 rushing touchdowns…Jax State ranked 12th nationally in rushing offense with 239.1 yards per game…JSU also ranked among the league leaders in scoring offense and total offense…the Gamecock trenches took pride in protecting the quarterback as JSU ranked fifth in the OVC in sacks allowed.

2012: Played in all 11 games as a redshirt freshman on the offensive line…helped the Gamecocks’ ground attack finish third in the Ohio Valley Conference, averaging 191 yards per game…Jax State ranked second in the OVC against conference foes with 217 yards rushing per game and a 4.6 yards per carry mark in conference match ups.

2011: Sat out the season as a redshirt.

HIGH SCHOOL: Played for Jerry Hood at Clay-Chalkville High School…helped the Cougars to a 9-4 record and into the quarterfinal round of the state playoffs…lettered three years…was a first-team all-region selection after recording 117 tackles, 24 tackles for loss and 16 sacks as a senior…had his best game against Pell City, where he had 17 tackles, two sacks and four tackles for loss…also lettered in wrestling, where he is the 6A State Heavyweight Champion…posted a 109-3 record over his last two years.

PERSONAL: Full name is John Adam Wright, II…born Oct. 29,1992, in Birmingham, Ala…son of John and Tracy Wright…has one brother, Brandon, and one sister, Julie…already earned his degree in business from JSU.
