JSU CAREER:
2013: Played in all 15 games for the Gamecocks as a junior, as a linebacker and as a leader on the Gamecocks’ special teams…blocked three kicks, the first vs. Jacksonville on Sept. 7, before also blocking kicks vs. Eastern Kentucky on Nov. 9 and at McNeese State in the second round of the FCS Playoffs on Dec. 7…broke up a pass vs. Samford in the first round of the FCS Playoffs on Nov. 30…had three tackles three times.
2012: Played in all 11 games for the Gamecocks as a sophomore, earning the start in 10 of them…was second on the team and eighth in the Ohio Valley Conference with 85 tackles, 51 solo…also had three tackles for a loss, one sack, a pass break-up, quarterback hurry and forced fumble…racked up a season-high 11 tackles, forced a fumble and broke up a pass at Eastern Kentucky on Sept. 22 and had 10 at UT Martin on Nov. 3…had at least seven tackles in nine of his 11 games.
2011: Played in 10 of the Gamecocks’ 11 games as a true freshman…had 17 tackles, 15 solo, one interception and one pass break-up…grabbed his interception at Austin Peay on Oct. 15 and returned it 10 yards for a touchdown…also had three solo tackles vs. APSU…had four tackles and broke up a pass in his collegiate debut in JSU’s season opener vs. UT Martin on Sept. 1…recorded three tackles in the season finale at Tennessee State on Nov. 19.
HIGH SCHOOL: Played at Clay County High School for Kris Herron and Danny Horn…was an first-team all-state selection as a senior…was an all-region selection…led the Panthers to the region championship in 2009 and was the State Runner-up after posting a 13-2 record…team claimed region title and finished with a 13-1 record his junior year, advancing to the state semi finals…team won the region championship and went 14-1 and was the State Runner-up in 2007…was selected for the North-South All-Star game.
PERSONAL: Full name is Ben Endress…born on August 21, 1991, in Ashland, Ala…son of Walt and Lanra Endress…has one younger brother, Luke…majoring in emergency management at JSU.
