JSU CAREER:
2013: Appeared in all 15 games for the Gamecocks as a sophomore…picked up six tackles, five solo…had two tackles against Eastern Kentucky on Nov. 9…had a solo tackle and a forced fumble on Sept. 7 against Jacksonville…recorded a tackle for a six-yard loss at Austin Peay on Nov. 2.
2012: Saw action in two games for the Gamecocks…finished the year with five tackles…made his collegiate debut against Chattanooga on Sept. 8 and finished with one tackle…recorded four tackles against Eastern Kentucky in his first career start on Sept. 22, including three solo stops and one assist.
2011: Sat out the season as a redshirt.
HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped at Sylacauga High School for under the guidance of coach Matt Griffith…A four-year member of the Aggie football squad…member of the all-county team after his senior season at SHS…helped SHS to a 7-3 mark in 2010…also participated in basketball on the prep level, averaging 15 points, ten rebounds per game…named to the Marble City Classic First Team…a stellar student in the classroom at SHS with a 3.0 grade point average and was named to the Who’s Who Among American High School Students.
PERSONAL: Full name is Kyle Pope…son of James Carter and Risa Pope…has three brothers, Kelsey (his twin), Keaton and Derrick, and one sister, Aaliyah…twin brother Kelsey is playing at Samford…his cousin is Gerald Wallace of the Boston Celtics…majoring in exercise science and wellness at JSU.
