2008 SPRING OUTLOOK: After a solid spring, hopes to continue to improve upon his past success with his work ethic and his persistence…projected as the starting placekicker.
JSU CAREER:
2007: Served as the Gamecocks’ starting placekicker in all 11 games in his junior season…was a First Team All-OVC Selection and a Third Team AP All-American after he connected on 22-of-29 field goals for an average of 2.00 field goals made per game, which ranked first nationally…led the OVC and ranked 15th in the nation in scoring with an average of 9.0 points per game…his 22 field goals destroyed the JSU single season record of 13, set by Joe Nix in 1974…moved into first on the school’s career field goals list, passing Slade Stinnett against UT Martin on Oct. 4…set the school record for field goals in a game with four three times (at Alabama State on Sept. 1, vs. Chattanooga on Sept. 8, at Murray State on Sept. 28)…set school record for points in a game by a kicker with 12 at Alabama State before besting it twice, with 13 vs. Chattanooga and 16 at Murray State…was named the OVC’s Special Teams Player of the Week three times (Sept. 2, Sept. 9 and Sept. 30)…to go along with the three games where he made four field goals, he also made three in the season finale at Southeast Missouri on Nov. 17…made a season-long 45-yarder twice (vs. Eastern Kentucky on Sept. 22 and at Southeast Missouri on Nov. 17…was 17-of-20 on field goal attempts from within 39 yards…made a string of eight in a row at one point and finished the season connecting on his last five field goal attempts…was 33-of-34 in extra point attempts.
2006: Served as the team’s placekicker in all 11 contests as a sophomore…was second on the team,
third in the OVC and 40th in the nation in scoring with 73 points…was 34-of-35 on PAT attempts and was 13-of-22 on field goal attempts…was a perfect 10-of-10 on field goals inside 30 yards and 13-of-15 inside 40 yards…made a season-long 37-yarder in the Sept. 2 season opener at Furman…punted once, a 27-yarder at Eastern Kentucky on Sept. 30, and kicked off once against Southeast Missouri on Sept. 16…was a perfect 7-for-7 in PAT tries against Murray State on Oct. 5…had one kick blocked on the year, at Mississippi State on Oct. 14…missed just one PAT, which was blocked, but was successful on his last 21 attempts.
(2005) Sat out the season as a redshirt.
(2004) Served as the Gamecocks’ placekicker in all 11 games as a freshman…finished the season second on the team and third in the OVC in scoring with 74 points, jusy five points shy of JSU’s school record for kicking points in a season…led all OVC kickers in scoring after connecting on 8-of-14 field goals and 50-of-56 point-after attempts…eight field goals made was good enough for fourth in the OVC, as was his 57 percent success rate in field goal attempts…connected on a career-long 42-yard attempt in JSU’s win at Tennessee-Martin on 10/9…three of his six misses came from over 40 yards out…made career-high two field goals at Tennessee Tech on 10/23…handled the kickoff duties for the Gamecocks in their win at Chattanooga on 9/18…made eight PAT’s twice, against Chattanooga on 9/18 and Tennessee-Martin on 10/9, just one shy of the school record of nine.
HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped at Central High School in Phenix City for Ron Nelson…The Red Devils finished 9-2 as a senior and 11-2 his junior season…was 37-of-37 on extra points and hit 5-of-8 field goals as a senior, including a 49-yard school record against Vigor in the first round of the state playoffs…hit 7-of-13 field goals as a junior and 49-of-51 on PATs…as a senior, had 55 kickoffs and 40 went as touchbacks…named the Class 6A Kicker-of-the-Year in 2003…was a first-team All-State kicker and was Bi-City first-team by The Columbus Ledger-Enquirer…played three years of soccer.
