JSU CAREER:
2007: Appeared in seven of the Gamecocks’ 11 games as a junior, all in reserve duty…totaled eight tackles on the season, including six that he picked up against Chattanooga on Sept. 8…in that UTC game, also recorded a sack and forced a fumble…recorded his other two tackles on Sept. 28 at Murray State.
2006: Played in eight games for the Gamecocks and earned three starts…started each of the first three games at defensive end…totaled seven tackles on the season, six of which were solo tackles…recorded one sack on the season for a loss of 12 yards on 10/5 vs. Murray State…had season-high three tackles in the season opener vs. Furman on 9/2.
(2005) Saw action in all 11 games as a reserve for the Gamecocks in his freshman season...totaled 18 tackles, 11 solo, three tackles for a loss, one sack, one fumble recovery and a quarterback hurry on the year...had his best game in the season opener against Furman on Sept. 1, when he recorded five tackles and a sack...had four tackles two weeks later at UAB on Sept. 17...at Southeast Missouri on Sept. 24, had two tackles, both behind the line of scrimmage.
(2004) Sat out the 2004 season as a redshirt.
HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped at The Baylor School for David Bibee…team finished with a 3-6 record his senior season.
PERSONAL: Full name is Brenton DeSean Davenport…born on September 16, 1986…son of Herman and Elaine Davenport…has two older brothers, Michael and Maurice…majoring in Exercise Science and Wellness at JSU.
