2008 SPRING OUTLOOK: Had a productive spring and looks to be a key contributor on offense.

 

JSU CAREER: (2007) Played in 10 games for the Gamecocks…was second on team among tight ends in receptions with six…Had six catches for 36 yards…Averaged 6.0 yards per catch…Had a career-high three receptions for 19 yards in the win over UTC…Caught one pass vs. Memphis for 13 yards…Also had one reception in games vs. Eastern Kentucky and Tennessee Martin…ended season with 46 knockdowns with a career-high 11 in the season-opener against Alabama State…also had 10 knockdowns vs Austin Peay.

 

(2006) Saw action in nine games for the Gamecocks as a redshirt freshman…played 71 plays and graded 85 percent with 24 knockdowns.

 

(2005) Sat out the season as a redshirt.

 

HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped at Brantley County High School under Sean Pender… was named All-State First Team his senior season after finishing with 736 yards on 53 catches and eight touchdowns…was an All-Region First Team his sophomore through senior years… recorded 123 catches for 1,802 yards and two touchdowns in his career…also lettered in basketball and baseball…averaged 16.3 points and 11 rebounds as a junior and earned team MVP honors in basketball that season.

 

PERSONAL: Full name is Christopher Eric Johns…son of John Willie and Ginger Johns…born on September 2, 1986…lists Kellen Winslow as his favorite football player…majoring in Physical Education at JSU.
