2008 SPRING OUTLOOK: Worked really hard during the spring and impressed the coaches…should see playing time this year.

JSU CAREER:

2007: The only walkon player that made the 56-mad dress roster…saw action in three games…recorded three tackles, including two solo stops.

2006: Saw limited action as a freshman.

HIGH SCHOOL: Played at Cleburne County High School for Michael Shortt…was voted team captain as a senior…was most valuable linebacker…recorded more than 100 tackles his junior and senior years…team finished 10-2 his senior season and won the Region Championship…won the J.M Grubbs Award, which is awarded to athlete with the highest GPA…also lettered in basketball and track…finished third in the state in the 4x400…was an honor student

PERSONAL: Full name is Ellis Hopson Bennett…son of Thomas and Gloria Bennett…born on December 7, 1987…majoring in Engineering at JSU.
