2007 OVC All-Conference (Return Specialist)
JSU CAREER:
2007: As a junior with the Gamecocks, appeared in all 11 games and was one of the most exciting return men in the nation…a second team All-OVC selection after he led the Ohio Valley Conference and was fourth in the nation with an average of 29.38 yards per kick return, while ranking eighth nationally and tops in the OVC with a 13.87 average punt return…returned 21 kickoffs on the year for 617 yards and one score, while taking 15 punts a total of 208 yards…was named the OVC and the National Special Teams Player of the Week on Sept. 30 after he returned four kicks for 212 yards and a touchdown, while also racking up 104 yards on three punt returns at Murray State…in that Murray State game, recorded his season longs with an 89-yard kick return and an 88-yard punt return…also earned OVC Special Teams POTW honors on Nov. 4 after gaining 164 yards on five kick returns, including an 86-yard return , at Samford…also caught 10 passes for 139 yards and a touchdown and ran twice for 22 yards on the season…had his best receiving game at Samford, where he caught a pair of passes for 73 yards, including a 68-yard touchdown catch…against Chattanooga on Sept. 8.
2006: Saw action in nine of the Gamecocks’ 11 games as a sophomore…caught two passes for 67 yards, a 36-yard snag and a 31-yard catch, both in the UT-Martin game on Sept. 23…had two rushes on the year for 17 yards…returned six kickoffs for 85 yards, an average of 14.2 yards per return, including a 29-yard return against Murray State on Oct. 5.
JUNIOR COLLEGE: Played two seasons of basketball at Gadsden State
HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped at Cherokee County High School for Thomas Curry.
PERSONAL: Full name is Maurice Antwan Dupree…born on March 7, 1985…son of Jacqueline Dupree…has two younger brothers, Chris and D.J….his uncle, Billy Dupree, played for the Dallas Cowboys…majoring in Sociology at JSU.
